Lights, camera, action! The 11th Edition of the Black Sheep Film Festival hosted by SAE Institute Dubai was a smashing success, showcasing the best student projects produced within the Bachelor of Film and Bachelor of Animation programs. From February 22nd to 24th, the festival brought together film enthusiasts, industry professionals, and emerging talent to celebrate the art of storytelling through film.
The festival was made even more special by the support of our Venue Sponsor, the Paramount Hotel Dubai, which provided a stunning setting for the event. But it wasn’t just about the films – the festival also offered exciting workshops for attendees to learn from industry experts. On the first day, Kind Seminars taught the “Fundamentals of Storytelling,” while the second day focused on “Directing Workshop: One Shot Filmmaking” by Mohammed Tabbara.
The third day was the highlight of the festival, as the winners were announced and awarded exciting prizes sponsored by Advanced Media, GODOX, and Sony MEA. But before the ceremony, attendees were treated to a fascinating Jury Discussions Panel by filmmakers Gino Vassallo, Mohammed Tabbara, Sofia de Fay, and SAE Dubai’s Head of Film, Razan Takash.
Overall, the Black Sheep Film Festival was a fantastic showcase of emerging talent and a celebration of the art of film. We are grateful to our Venue Sponsor, the Paramount Hotel Dubai, and our prize sponsors, Advanced Media, GODOX, and Sony MEA, for their support in making the festival a roaring success. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for the Black Sheep Film Festival and the talented students of SAE Dubai!
