SAE Dubai has been appointed official Education Partner for world renowned Dubai International Film Festival 2009.

SAE Dubai film students have been responsible of producing all the content for the official YouTube channel of the festival. Additionally DIFF09 have relied on SAE Institute Dubai to contribute further as the exclusive ‘filmographer’ for the entire festival, at the completion of which produce a show-reel to be distributed all over the world.
The project is very ambitious because it was aimed to give to the DIFF09 YouTube viewers an unprecedented “live experience" of the festival as clips where edited and posted immediately after being recorded.
This extraordinary event was technically possible because of the seamless integration between the QuickTime footage, recorded on solid state JVC equipment, JVC GY 100 and GY 700 cameras, along with Apple Final Cut Studio 3 suites.
The SAE team was divided into 4 ENG crews of 3 to 4 students; each crew had a 100 or a 700 Camera and microphone. The 4 teams enjoyed unrestricted access to the entire festival, recording all activity, industry panels, celebrities and red-carpet; once the event is recorded the team will rush back to the SAE Post Studio and transfer images to workstations, then edited and uploaded immediately to YouTube and promoted on Facebook and Twitter for the world to glimpse.
Team Leader Giorgio Ungania said, “This project was technically challenging but definitely a ‘window’ on how future multimedia projects will be handled and produced. The crossover of traditional media with new social media tools will result into a brand new environment whereby trained multimedia professionals such as SAE students will be able to player a major role in re shaping the means and workflows on how we produce, consume and share media"
