Discovering Film Making
What you need to know about this course
This course will give everyone involved a holistic perspective on the pre-production, production and post production phases that are needed to carry out a project from the ground up. The course will also equip you with the necessary backing theory and understanding as to what, why and who is involved in the process, the flow of information and the interdependencies needed to carry out a project effectively and efficiently. The training will revolve around general concepts that can be applied to any equipment and to any scopes of a project.
Our instructor is a professional film-maker and has been actively engaged in local and international events, his unique expertise and knowhow in both the industry and in academics will be widely shared to jump start your career in film-making.

The course is designed for anyone who is interested in the process of film making. No previous experience is required.

- Visual language
- Lens language
- Camera Dynamica
- Cinematica continuity
- Exposure
- Color theory
- The tools of lighting
- Lighting as storytelling
- Script introduction / analysis / celt-x introduction
- Camera introduction / grip/ lighting equipment
- Shooting of one of the scenes from the script
- Shooting of the second scene on a green screen background
Day 2
- Introduction to basic editing
- Introduction to Post-Production (SFX-Color Correction)
- After Effects for basic effects
- Color correction with Looks to achieve a film look for your footage
- Intro to I-DVD creation and output of the scene to DVD

Qualification
SAE Discovering Film Making Certificate
Entry Requirements
There are no academic requirements to participate in this programme. The student needs to be a minimum of 17 years of age upon commencement of the course.
